Nordic Walking

Karen Powell is a qualified British Nordic Walking Instructor and teaches small groups and individuals around Inverness, Drumnadrochit and other local areas.

Nordic Walking is the perfect complement to Pilates and brings people to the outdoors, thoughtfully encouraging them to think about their posture whilst walking with specifically designed poles.

It enhances your natural walking style, and with a technique similar to classic cross country skiing it becomes a whole body work out, encouraging you to walk naturally, creating a relaxed style, using your upper body, with less pressure on the joints of the hips and knees.

Suitable for any one who would like to walk with ease.

Nordic Walking for people with Parkinson's - weekly group on Thursdays 3pm , Inverness

Nordic Walking is particularly helpful for people living with Parkinson's disease. The activity of walking with poles helps stimulate neural pathways, and actively helps to delay the symptoms of Parkinson's, helping improve fitness, coordination, balance, stability and mood. Karen has trained as a teacher of Nordic Walking for Parkinson's.
